I enjoy workin with children, any age really. I have tons of experience. I've raised 6 boys, and have learned from each experience. I have patience, energy, creativity, and a positive, friendly attitude. I'm hard working and a fast learner.

I graduated from a small high school in Iowa in 2002. I was first in my class. I scored a 31 on the ACT. I attended Northwestern College in Orange City, IA for 4 years and graduated with a 3.8 GPA in 2006. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion, with a minor in Youth and Adolescent Studies. I have spent the last 4 years working in an adult education program where I teach elementary thru high school level math in a classroom setting. I have also done a significant amount of one to one and small group tutoring to help students prepare to pass their GED test. I have also taught for 2 years in an ESL classroom and have strong computer skills. My teaching style is very student centered. I plan lessons to be engaging and interactive and try to teach things in a way that is easy to remember. I try to appeal to the students interests and relate problems to life situations. My biggest strength as a teacher is my patience.

I came to the United States in 1984 and worked in Chicago for 13 years as a radio host in three different radio stations. Then I moved to Texas in 1999 and worked for another radio station for another seven years before coming back to Chicago. At 43 years of age I decided to go back to college and I am now pursuing a second degree (Psychology) at Loyola University. For almost two years I have been teaching ESL as a volunteer for Morton College's Project Care, and for the last six months I have also been tutoring (Math and Reading) students from third to sixth grade. In my 20 years as a Radio host I had the opportunity to interview most of the greatest Latin artists of my time and some sports stars as well; Michael Jordan, for example.
