HourVille

Simply put, HourVille is a social marketplace for finding and booking local services - most of them by-the-hour. Here you'll find a diverse group of service providers offering a wide variety of services, and many let you book time with them online directly through our scheduling system.

Who we are

HourVille was created in Austin, a city and community thriving at the intersection of technology and creativity, by a group of friends who attended the University of Texas. Our vision is to bring people together, enrich communities through shared knowledge and resources, and generate a positive economic impact at a local level.

We created HourVille with this vision in mind, and our goal is to make it dramatically easier for people seeking or offering local services to find each other. We hope our vision and HourVille will contribute to more dynamic local communities built around the trade of local knowledge, talents and skills.

The HourVille Crew

Fadi Gabra

Fadi is co-founder of HourVille and manages development of the technology platform and business strategy as it grows and evolves. Fadi has 10+ years of experience in operations, investment analysis, finance and pricing and has held positions at several fortune 500 technology companies. Fadi holds a BA in Statistics and a BS in Industrial Engineering from the UW at Madison and an MBA with honors from the UT at Austin. Fadi believes in the power of markets and wants to create a place where we all can offer our excess knowledge, skills, talents and experience, to those looking for them.

Jeffrey Cherewaty

Jeffrey develops software and designs everything HourVille. He holds a BS in Advertising and Radio-Television-Film from The University of Texas at Austin. An efficient coder by day, an inspired designer by night, and a kickin' horn player in-between, Jeffrey drives us towards a marketplace that operates simply and efficiently for both providers and their clients.

Matt Tyler

Matt manages HourVille's infrastructure and keeps us running smoothly. He's also a talented coder and database admin. Matt is a true Austinite, born and raised, and wants to build a site where you can find, compare, schedule and pay for services around town all in one place, and grow our local economies.

Matthew Trudeau

Matt is co-founder, angel investor and active advisor to HourVille. Matt has 10+ years of experience in electronic markets and trading having held roles in product management, operations, and strategic business development at global financial services. Matt holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and an MBA from the UT at Austin. Matt has an insatiable curiosity and wants to develop a market where people can explore new services, and where others can offer their interesting or unusual skills, talents, or knowledge.

Craig McDonald

Craig is co-founder and active advisor to HourVille. Craig has 10+ years experience in the software development process including quality assurance, production, product development, and marketing for software companies in the financial services and video game industries. Craig holds a BA in Journalism and an MBA from the UT at Austin. Craig is a gregarious fun-loving guy who wants to build a market where people can find entertaining and fun hourly services.

Nicholas Van Loan

Nick is co-founder and advisor to HourVille. Nick has 10+ years of experience in financial analysis, advisory and consulting, and business development for companies in the financial services, technology, and private equity and banking industries. Nick holds an MBA with honors from the University of Texas at Austin and a BS cum laude in Finance and International Business from Georgetown University. Nick is a pragmatist and wants to build a market where people can find practical services, at the right price, to help them get more done and become more efficient.
