Capital Factory Selects HourVille for Startup Incubator Program

Four Austin companies and one California company were chosen Wednesday to participate in a summer startup program run by local technology incubator Capital Factory.

The winners were: Cubit Planning, Famigo, Homstie, Hourville, and PetzMD.

Microsoft BizSpark Accelerator is the newest addition to the SXSW Interactive schedule of activities. Scheduled Monday, March 16 at the Downtown Austin Hilton, the event spotlights some of the web's most exciting new innovations, enabling the entrepreneurial visionaries behind these new products to demo their creations in front of a live audience of industry professionals and technology trend-setters. More than two hundred companies (from 25 states and five different countries) submitted their web-based products to be part of this first-ever Microsoft BizSpark Accelerator at SXSW event.

Most Promising I.T. and Web 2.0 Companies - Rice Alliance Tech Forum

The one-day event culminated in an announcement of the ten Most Promising I.T. and Web 2.0 Companies chosen from 50 competitors and judged by the Rice Alliance I.T. and Web 2.0 Advisory Board, based on the companies' elevator pitch presentations. The exercise simulates meeting an investor on an elevator and having only 90 seconds to convince them to invest in your company.
